Drew Nieporent & Chef Stephen Lewandowski
One of America’s most respected and celebrated restauranteurs, Drew Nieporent is the energetic creator of the Myriad Restaurant Group, which operates many fine establishments. Drew donates his time and leadership to many charitable endeavors, and we are happy to welcome him back to Carnivale du Vin, this year with executive chef Stephen Lewandowski from Tribeca Grill.
Drew’s latest project is Corton, a modern French restaurant in collaboration with chef/partner Paul Liebrandt in the space that housed the revered Montrachet (which operated for 21 years). Corton has earned rave reviews from The New York Times (3 stars), New York Magazine (4 stars), Time Out New York (an unprecedented 6 stars), and many others. Myriad also runs Tribeca Grill, Nobu New York, Nobu 57, Nobu London and Centrico. An inductee to the James Beard Foundation’s “Who’s Who of Cooking in America” (1992), Drew won a Beard award for Outstanding Restaurateur in 2009. Previous Beard awards include Outstanding Service (1995) and Humanitarian of the Year (2000). Other recognition includes Bon Appetit’s Restaurateur of the Year (2000) and DiRoNA’s Hall of Fame (2005). Drew is involved with dozens of charities including Citymeals on Wheels, DIFFA, City Harvest Food Council and Share Our Strength. He has been profiled in the New York Times, Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Town & Country, Wall Street Journal, Cigar Aficionado and the San Francisco Chronicle, and is a frequent guest on television shows such as Top Chef, Iron Chef, Charlie Rose and Good Morning America.
