Ferrari-Carano Vineyards
Don and Rhonda Carano are natives of Reno, NV, and second generation Italian-Americans. In 1973, Don established the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in downtown Reno, and together they have developed the property into the area’s premier location for fine dining, great wine lists and impeccable service. Don and Rhonda were introduced to the beauty of Northern Sonoma County in 1979 while searching for wines to enhance the wine lists at their hotel and eventually purchased a 70 acre parcel from this land. The wine they made in their barn from the land eventually appeared on the wine lists at the Eldorado.
Realizing the potential that this area held, the Caranos founded Ferrari-Caranao Vineyards and Winery in 1981 and the first wines bearing the Ferrari-Carano label were released in 1987. Today, Ferrari-Carano produces these and a variety of white and red wines including Pinot Grigio, Single Vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs among many others.
