O’Shaughnessy Winery

oshaughnesseyThe Genesis of the O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery occurred a decade ago when the family began a search for mountainside land with appropriate soils, exposure, and climate, capable of producing intense, full flavored Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. In 1996 after years of searching, they arrived on a parcel of land on Howell Mountain with breathtaking views of mountain peaks and valleys of green and knew  the first of many milestones on the continuum to becoming a family winery was reached.

The  philosophy at O’Shaughnessy winery is to produce wines that express the unique character of the estate vineyards and appellation. The winemaking style is contemporary, utilizing cutting edge fermentation equipment paired with natural hands on winemaking. The emphasis is on balance; the concentrated nature of the grapes from the estate vineyards needs to be in balance with the flavors and aromas in order to produce the most harmonious wine.
