Neville Brothers
New Orleans’ own brothers, the Neville Brothers, are known separately as Art, Charles, Aaron and Cyril. Through decorated careers forming different bands, as soloists, and together as the Neville Brothers since 1977, the men are responsible for hit after hit of funk and blues, and for furthering the tradition of Mardi Gras Indian music. With family as their core strength, the four Nevilles entertain audiences all over the world and play the traditional closing night show at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
“The differences between the four Neville Brothers are as dramatic as the similarities that unite them. The source of the similarities is passionate funk, a feeling for blues-soaked deep pocket grooves that is the basis of their greatness and exalted place in our cultural history,” said David Ritz.
